Live Long and Prosper, Winona RyderHot Geeks by Shane Boucher

Here is a story for all you true Geeks out there. Variety has reported that the new Star Trek film, directed by JJ Abrams has added another star to the growing list attached to the project. And that star would be Winona Ryder, who has joined the cast to play the mother of the Vulcan Spock (played by Zachary Quinto).

It’s great to see Winona join the cast, and signing on as Spock’s human mother Amada Grayson seems to be a good fit, the role was originally played by Jane Wyatt for both the TV series and the fourth feature film. The new film (number 11) and reboot for the struggling franchise will center on the Starfleet Academy days of the original crew of the Starship Enterprise. Set to star in the leading roles as of now are, Chris Pine as Capt. Kirk, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Karl Urban is Dr.McCoy and Eric Bana will play the new villain, Nero.
