Reaching Prague, after scouting locations in Poland for Sci-Thrillogy 'Low Grounds', is nothing short of a revelation. In its more than 2000 year history, Prague has amassed such an impressive amalgam of cultures, starting with the Celts, Teutons and Slavs. Mozart was commissioned to write 'Don Giovanni' by the Prague Lodge of Freemasons and lived here while composing it. Masonic symbology is ubiquitous, finding expression in architechtural details everywhere, including the pavement. There are dream sequences in 'Low Grounds' with Billy Drago and John Amedori for which Prague will yield amazingly evocative locations.

Jaz Coleman, who while still continuing to write and tour with 'Killing Joke', ('Love Like Blood', 'Death & Ressurection Show'), has chosen Prague as one of his two residences, (the other being New Zealand – the man has taste). Jaz's contribution to 'Low Grounds' is slated to be an original score that combines classical and rock, scored to the dramatic structure of the film and recorded with a live orchestra in Prague.
I recommend a walk by the river at night with a good cigar, procurred at any half way decent tobacco shop in town (they still have ties to Cuba from 'redder' days). Then swing in to the old part of town and locate the astrological clock (a masterpiece clock tower that measures time in 2000 year astronomical cycles). In the street opposite the tower you'll find a small dungeon of a place called Agartha, with a friendly staff and a separate vaulted room with jazz performances almost every night starting at 9pm.
Our sincere condolences go out to the band members of Killing Joke, who's bassist Paul Rave passed away unexpectedly Saturday October 20th 2007, in Geneva.
