...joins the 3rd Annual HOT IN HOLLYWOOD BENEFIT on August 16 at Avalon (1735 Vine Street, across from the Capitol Records building in the epicenter of Hollywood). This time, it's NADINE VELAZQUEZ, Jamie Pressly's My Name Is Earl costar.
How could you forget her from HIH1 when she
opened the show with Miami Sound Machine's "Conga"? Now, rumor has it, she'll be
presenting...I guess you'll have to be there to find out what.

Hot in Hollywood benefit director C. Jay Cox, producer Sam Frankel and I met with Jaime Pressly yesterday for her to check up on the AHF mobile unit she has worked to hard to raise money for these past two years at HIH! She had a great heart-to-heart with Mobile Unit director Eric Boyd who filled her in on how the money HIH raised has helped them reach more people - increasing their testing by 40%!!!!
Jaime is thrilled to be honored at this year's HIH benefit on August 16 and has offered to help in whatever way she can to raise even more money this year...
It has just been announced that Jaime Pressly is going to be receiving the first ever "Hot in Hollywood Award" at HIH3, for her outstanding dedication to the cause and for all the work she has done over the past two years to put HIH on the map. Jaime has not only hosted and promoted the event but also brought in money by selling tables and even doing an impromptu # last year to raise an additional $7,000!
HIH loves Jaime!

So I just got back from the 2007 Prime Time Emmys. I went with the lovely and talented (2007 nominee and former winner) Holland Taylor of "Two and a Half Men". I have to say the most exciting part of the night was being in the bathroom and peeing next to Ed Asner. I had the best seat in the house in the front row right behind the microphone for optimal face time on camera (within 5 seats of me were Kanye West, Tony Bennett and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I got to see all my Hot in Hollywood Benefit friends: Jaime Pressly and America Ferrera (congrats to both Emmy winners!!!!), as well as, during the commercial break, I ran over to the Heroes section to say "hi" to Jack Coleman, Milo Ventimiglia, James Kyson Lee and Zachary Quinto, and even found time to air kiss Rex Lee.
Jaime Pressly & America Ferrera
I have to say that the theatre-in-the-round thing was very confusing as an audience member. The most nerve wracking part of the night was Sally Field "going up on her lines" in the middle of her speech. The part that was not aired was her saying " If Mother's ruled the world, there would be no God Damned war!" I also got to reconnect with Amy Van Nostrand , nominee Tim Daily's wife, who I worked with at the Shakespeare Theatre in DC 13 years ago!!
Katherine Heigl & Terry O'Quinn
At the Governer's Ball I got so see BU schoolmate and 2006 Emmy Nominee (for writing Grey's Anatomy), Krista Vernoff, and our New York friend Geraldine Hughes (who was the female lead of Rocky Balboa, and just booked "Pump Girl' at Manhattan Theatre Club). Just as we were about to leave, Holland and I were thrilled to catch Tony Bennett as he did a 4 song set including "I Left my Heart in San Francisco". The most exciting person I met there was Elaine Stritch. I have always loved her on stage and Holland mentioned she was... well, let's say, a little uncomfortable that Stanley Tucci missed rehearsal and so we were on the edge of our seat to see how she would handle the sitch. Well, that whole schtick about her not being able to follow the telepromter was just an act and a brilliant one! Afterwards, she and Holland were teasing about how much Elaine hates LA and that she was only here 4 days before she started to consider having "work done"! Hi-larry-us! Luckily she had to jump on a plane immediately (to be at Betty Comden's memorial in New York) before she had a chance to call a plastic surgeon!

We shortly thereafter went to the ET/People party at the Disney Concert Hall. It was stunning and soon I was talking with Judith Light, Michael Urie and Becki Newton, as well as Sara Ramirez, Kate Flannery, T. R. Knight and (from "Kiss the Bride" ) Tori and Dean. And there is where Duran Duran played- they were awesome and in a super small space so you could get up so close! However, oddly enough, out of all the HUGE stars there, the person I got most geeked about was Sabra from "So You Think You Can Dance" . I mean, what she does... I mean, THAT is something I can not do!!
Steppin' Out - Tony Bennett and Christina Aguilera
Now let's talk about the gift bag.... it was downright heavy. (i can not believe it is under the $600 tax code) Just some of the goodies were: the cookbook "Every Night Italian" by Giuliano Hazan, the sixth season of "I Love Lucy" on DVD, Sarah Jessica Parker's perfume "Covet", makeup by Maybelline, a passport holder by Toss and some candles and room fragrance by Trapp (not the mention the fantastic bag itself from Cole Haan.
MM: So it's fantastic that you hosted Hot in Hollywood for a second time- what got you involved in the first place?
JP: The charity itself. I like to get involved with anything that raises money for AIDS research.
MM: We were so thrilled to have you. You make it so fun. Your set seems so fun too, what's the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you while shooting "My Name is Earl"? JP: It is impossible to get embarrassed on set, we do stuff on purpose to get a laugh, everyday.
MM: And you are so funny. Are you totally geeked about your Emmy nomination? JP: Of course, I couldn't be more excited and honored to be nominated again.
MM: Where were you when you found out? JP: I found out early in the morning while in the Bahamas on vacation, with my son asleep on my chest.
MM: That's so amazingly sweet. How do you do so much?! You're a mom, you've got the TV show and your clothing line. Tell me, what inspired you to create your clothing line J'aime? JP: I wanted to be a designer since I was a kid and once I had the means to do my own line, I did.
MM: That's so cool, you're stuff's fantastic. Listen, good luck at the Emmy's, I'll see you there.
Celebrities were the big winners at Hot In Hollywood 2007’s live auction. America Ferrera had the winning bid of $35,000 for a brand new Toyota Prius. In spite of the recently called off engagement, "House" stars Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison both showed up that night. Spencer had the winning bid of $6000 for Elvis and The Rolling Stones memorabilia. Morrison paid $7000 for an Andy Warhol lithograph of Marilyn Monroe. Jaime Pressly, on the spur of the moment, offered to sing “Fever” for anyone who would give $7000… Milo Ventimiglia of "Heroes" jumped right in and was a great sport as Jaime sang to him. She was great!!
Just 3 months after giving birth to her beautiful baby boy she's back for a second year, hosting Hot In Hollywood. You guessed it, it's Jaime Pressly. (She looks as HOT as ever!) You all know her from my "My Name Is Earl". Jamie was nominated for an Emmy this year as Outstanding Supporting Actress. Last year she raised a ton of money on the spot, and was an amazing host. Looking forward to seeing what fun she has up her sleeve this year! Get your tickets now!!!
