Brutal Legend – Adventures in the Land of Heavy MetalHot Geeks by Shane Boucher

Just announced and due out in 2008 comes a new game from the creative mind of Tim Schafer at Double Fine, whose long career stretches back to the early days of LucasArts. Brutal Legend tells the story of a roadie named Eddie Riggs (voiced by Jack Black) who finds himself pulled into a mythic land once ruled by rock legends, but now is full of twisted creatures and demons.

So what does any good roadie do when found in this situation….he decides to put on the most insane music tour created! Outside of the amazing design, the other great aspect is the list of Hollywood and Rock and Roll celebrities being targeted for major roles, some of which are Mottorhead's founder Lemmy, Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Black Sabbath’s Ronnie James Dio. Along with lending their voices they are all planning on contributing new music for the game as well. So it is easy to see why this game has already shot to the front of the industries to-watch-list.

So says this week's Birthday boy, Jack Black, and he might have been talking about his upcoming year. Black celebrates his 38th birthday on August 28th of this week, which happens to be the date of a total lunar eclipse, the longest and deepest in seven years. His solar return chart features several tight oppositions including Venus retrograde with Neptune, so this year relationships of all kinds will cause soul-searching, but especially those with women. Is his wife preggers again? This would be a good year for him to have a baby girl. With Mercury opposing Uranus and Venus opposing Neptune it's going to be an extremely creative and prolific year for him on all fronts, provided he is up to the challenge of being challenged by the people he counts on most.
