Chateau Miravel a 1,000 acre estate in the South of France complete with forests, a moat, gardens, 35-bedrooms, two swimming pools and an organic winery.  Brangelina have plopped down a few shiny Euros for the spread, reportedly enamored by the sprawling beauty and privacy. Hmm. I'm suddenly remembering when they claimed New Orleans post-Katrina as their home and bought a 6-bedroom mansion in the French Quarter. Did they even move in? I wonder.

Aren't you feeling a bit whoooooozie watching them twirl around the globe like a pair of crazy pump-n-spin toy tops? Round and round, watch them go! 

ANYWAY. I'm curious what they'll do with a backyard full of grapes. They'll certainly have enough manpower to till fields with the twins on the way and all...

So I'm at LAX waiting for my baggage (non-emotional, thank you) and as I peruse the wardrobe stylings of my fellow passengers returning home, a favorite past time of mine, I spy a wonderful pair of shoes on a lovely lady. Not only was she excited to receive the compliment on her footwear, but she was also anxious to share with me the story behind the line: TOMS Shoes.

TOMS Shoes was founded by Blake Mycoskie the third place winner of Season 2 of one the HOTTEST, not to mention EMMY Award winning, reality shows: The Amazing Race. Mycoskie adopted the style of the traditional light-weight Argentinean shoe Alpargatas and made it more contemporary, fashionable and eye-catching. The formula behind Blake's goal is simple: "End poverty in third-world countries through fashion, generosity, and charity." HOW PERFECT IS THAT?!

But how is this done you may be asking yourself, well for every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS gives a pair of shoes to a child in need. TOMS Shoes has given over 10,000 pairs of shoes to children in Argentina, they just got back from South Africa where they gave away over 50,000 pairs while partnering up with Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson of the musical group Hanson. The next “shoe drop” is slated for THIS YEAR in Ethiopia.

Happy weekend HIHers! And happy one it is for the couch since Thursday night comedies came back on NBC. Oh it feels good to laugh. Sorry for the absence we did not forget about you, and cause we love you here is our week in review.

A sign that the apocalypse that was the writer's strike is really over as everyone's favorite shows are slowly returning, First it was How I Met Your Mother, and we are now hearing that Sarah Chalke, who plays Stella the plastic surgeon who removed Ted's tramp stamp and then took her on the cutest two minute date ever maybe be back for more episodes. (whew mouthful) Our thought is that Stella is the mother of How I Met Your Mother! Yea we know that is not as mind blowing as Michael is on the ship or Penny's Dad is the big bad on Lost but it is still pretty good. One little throw away line of her saying that she went to a St Patrick's Day party last week but left connected with Ted's saying to his kids at the end of the St. Patrick's Day episode that he didn't know it but their Mom was at that same party.

And then finally it happened. Must see TV came back on Thursday night will all new episodes of My Name is Earl, 30 Rock, The Office and Scrubs which may or may not be moving to ABC next season. Let's get to the good ones.

So how long until Fox Reality put on MILF Island? We are giving it two months, we bet you it is even in development right now. And how much do we love Alec Baldwin, every scene with him is a gem especially when he finally cracks Liz in the end with the stutter and how the state of Massachusetts classified him as a Grade A Moron. You can all just eat my poo.

Babe, that was the most awkward dinner party ever. Babe, I think it was the scented candles or the Dundie thrown at the $200 plasma screen TV that did it in, babe. The Office came back with a vengeance and let us in on the home life of Michael and Jan which involves, an office, a workspace, a broken glass door (Michael really loves the ice cream man), the smallest plasma screen TV, and Jan's Serenity candles. During the three hour waiting period for dinner, we got to see the best game of celebrity ever, Jim and Pam confessionals in the only safe room of the house the bathroom, Dwight showing up with his baby sitter and beet salad, the realization that Michael has had three vasectomies and of course Hunter's song for Jan. Love those dance moves. The culmination of the night was a Dundie through a TV and the cops showing up and telling Michael that he should sleep elsewhere and of course Dwight being Dwight took him home. The icing on the cake, Angela slamming an ice cream cone into Andy's car after he took a lick of it. Personal space their Andy. It was awesome babe.

Reality TV News in a nutshell, American Idol Gives Back had lower ratings than last season and does not look like they are going to be raising as much money as last season either. Plus, the shocker of Michael Johns still sits in our mouth, James is off of Big Brother, Hell's Kitchen is back, and Secret Talents of the Stars is over after one episode.

Sara Isaacson and I just returned from the SAG awards. What a fun night! The SAG awards are everyones fave because it's actors celebrating actors. So everyone stays all night long and has a blast.

At the after party we got to hang with Hot in Hollywood Aluni America Ferrera, Michael Urie, Sara Ramirez, Rex Lee, and Kate Flannery. We also got to talk with Rebecca Romijn (whose husband Jerry O'Connell did a number in drag at last year's event.) Sara and I had a lovely dinner with the folks from Variety who introduced us to astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

We have to admit, first hand that the Sugar girls have their fingers on the pulse of what's hot: YELLOW! Notible favs... Vanessa Williams and Kate Beckinsale.

The winners of the "Heartfelt Speech Award" included Best Movie Actor winner Daniel Day-Lewis who spoke of the loss of Heath Ledger and Best TV Comedy Actress winner Tina Fay from 30 Rock who spoke of the writers strike.

Hot In Hollywood Best Dressed MEN 2007 Hot Couture by Marcellas Reynolds

It's the end of 2007 and it's time for those annoying "Best Of" and "Worst Of" lists. My least fave of that ilk has always been Mr. Blackwell's Best and Worst Dressed Lists. I've always wondered, "Who the hell is this guy?" And then you see the photos of him and you wonder, "How in the hell can he judge anyone?" I mean... Mr. Blackwell could end up atop one of his own lists. And not the Best Dressed one.

So I did some research (Google) and discovered he was born in 1922, was an actor, agent and successful fashion designer. He's also one of the first openly gay men to do fashion commentary. Simply put he deserves respect. Imagine the level of bravery it took for him to be him. To be out on TV and in the media. He blazed the way for "gay style guys": Cojo, Robert, Carson, Sam and now, me.

Thank you Mr. Blackwell. For your class, bravery and in his own special way trying to make the world more beautiful.

In the spirit of Mr Blackwell's list I would like to do my own. Why? Because I wanna. Because I can. And because Mr. Blackwell did it in a time when it wasn't as easy as typing a few words and clicking "post"! So, in a more modern 2007 blog-on-the-internet kinda way, I'm doing what he did.

Without further ado;
MARCELLAS' 10 BEST DRESSED MEN OF 2007.

10) Terrence Howard - To me Terrence is like the Black George Clooney. This is an actor who has been around for ages and truly paid his dues. And much like George he's a man of a certain age who has come into himself and has presence and style. Yes, often he's a bit too "b-boy" (which is age inappropriate) but when he gets it right he's dead on.

9) James Blake - The Davis Cup winning African-American tennis star. This is what a star looks like. I'm waiting for him to drop his tennis racquet and start making movies. He is gorgeous and dresses impeccably in a world where an ill-fitting blazer thrown over a t-shirt is considered chic.

8) Justin Timberlake - Who doesn't love Justin? The voice. The body. Everything looks great on him. I love that in a casual age he still manages to take real, classic menswear elements (vest and ties.. and yes even fedoras) and make them look modern. One word of caution JT; enough with the sneakers and suits. You are 25...

7) Gabriel Aubry - What is about the Canucks? Another Canadian who is physically perfect and has great personal style. Gabriel has been one of the top male models in the World for years. He's taken that lesson to heart. He's always polished and amazingly put together. The perfect accessory for a movie star. Good on you Halle!

6) The men of Dirty Sexy Money - Peter Krause, Donald Sutherland, Blair Underwood, William Baldwin. There was a scene a couple weeks ago when the men were having cigars and brandy in the study @ Valhalla and Donald Sutherland was wearing a ruby velvet robe, sherbet shirt and pink tie... Wait I digress. I know this has less to do with the actors and more to do with the costume designers but the men on this series dress wonderfully. I find myself week after week not only wondering when Billy Baldwin's character is gonna get busted with the tranny but also where Peter Krause's got that tie.. And briefcase.. And suit...

5) Tom Ford - What can you say about the man that made an aging fashion house (Gucci) relevant for the millennium and beyond? Tom's personal style is minimal, sexy, polished and reeks of confidence. And his new menswear line? Fantastic.

4) Jude Law - This Brit export is not only a talented actor he is classic old-Hollywood style. When you see Jude you think of Clark Gable, Cary Grant and Gregory Peck. He dresses on and off set like a man should.

3) Zac Posen - A designer to watch, Zac dresses incredibly old-school. You get the feeling when you see him he's done his research and his presentation isn't by chance. I love how tailored he is without looking costume-y or stodgy.

2) David Beckham - It doesn't hurt that his face and body are epic. Becks looks amazing in and out of clothes. His style is totally trendy, sorta over-the-top, definitely girly, a bit Euro-trash yet somehow he makes it work. And that is what true style is about; taking risks and looking good.

1) Brad Pitt - All you have to do is rent any one of the Ocean's movies. My fave is Ocean's 11. Brad's wardrobe in that movie is insane. Clothes are meant to be worn by him. And I love how he dresses off set. He's not afraid of accessories; a good watch, great shoes, pocket squares. Simple, clean, tailored. And he wears a ton of J. Lindberg. It seems he knows what looks great on him. Everything.

So there it is, MARCELLAS' BEST DRESSED MEN LIST 2007. Just remember behind every well-dressed man there is (probably) a stylist who is probably gay. I'm just saying.

Top 5 Men's Must-Haves Hot Couture by Marcellas Reynolds

So lately I've been shopping like it's my job. Well actually it is my job as a fashion stylist. But lately I've been shopping a lot for myself. I really don't need anything. I mean I'm the boy that has everything. Except a boyfriend. What can you do? So what am I looking for? How about THE TOP 5 THINGS EVERY MAN SHOULD HAVE IN HIS WARDROBE?

And then the 3 things, ummm make that 5 things that are so TRENDY & FUN this season I must, must have them!

THE ESSENTIALS:
1) Flat front, light weight wool trousers in either dark gray, navy or black. You can dress them up or down. (There is never an excuse for pleats! Period. They make even the thinest guy seem like he has a gut.) Try J. Lindeberg, Theory and DKNY. The DKNY Soho cut is my fave and kinda cheap.

2) A pair of dark denim jeans (preferably Earnest Sewn or Marc by Marc Jacobs. Helmut Lang works too.) And no rips, minimal distressing or whiskering. That's so 2002. You can wear jeans anywhere now, from work, to a fancy restaurant, to a nightclub. They work w/any outfit. Have you seen the latest Club Monaco ads? So chic; jeans with a white shirt and bow-tie.

3) White collared shirts. They look easily chic and effortless w/jeans or trousers. And tuck it in! If I see one more poseur Hollywood wanna be actor with his collars outside his jacket and shirt untucked... If you are really stylish, you wear French-cuffs w/the classic Tiffany "Cube" cuff links. So grown up.

4) A trench coat. Either classic tan or black. You can throw it over anything and look current. Every adult man and woman should own one. They are classic. And Christopher Bailey, the designer @ Burberry Prorsum is soooo hot.

5) Wing tips or cap toe lace-ups. Yeah I said wing tips but not the kind your dad used to wear (though vintage is hot). Retire the square toe shoe guys. You look like a wanna be. You know...the guy on the outside of the velvet rope. Check out the doorman. Odds are he's wearing a pair of rounded toe wing tip lace-ups he got last weekend at Barneys. And if he isn't you don't wanna go to that club anyway.

THE FUN:
1) A pair of old-school gym shoes. My favorite: the Nike "Cortese". I'm feeling Adidas "Gazelles" also! I collect them in fun colors.

2) This season I'm shelving my old-school gym shoes and buying the Lanvin Satin high tops or the metallic leather high tops. I got a pair from PF Flyers (yeah them) and they are to die for. I'll wear them with my black double vented J. Lindeberg suit and look too hip for words.

3) 3 or 4 t-shirts w/characters or logos, in dark colors. Fun tees are great w/jeans and super cute under a blazer. But not if you have a gut. Nothing is worse than a guy with a gut wearing a "Hang In There Baby" kitty cat t-shirt. And for the record A & F tees don't count especially if you are over 19 and neither does your UCLA college gym shirt.

4) A velvet blazer. Velvet is huge for fall! Velvet blazers never really go out of style. Choose a color like navy, green or burgundy or go classic with black. You can dress them up or down and look sharp either way.

5) A Chunky knit sweater. Yeah like your mom's. Except she would wear it with leggings. And no, you can't!

If you still have some cash left over: a dark, single-breasted, tropical weight wool blazer (goes with everything), a jean jacket (not too distressed), a dark solid tie, pocket squares and ascots, and a cashmere v-neck in black or gray. Oh and a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner. ;)
