Last night we (HIH's Michael Medico and Hiko Mitsuzuka) were invited to attend the Opening Night Gala of Outfest 2009 in downtown LA. Kicking off the annual festival was Peter Bratt's powerful drama, La Mission, starring his brother, Benjamin (below). But before the film screened, Christina Ricci and Lisa Kudrow walked out on stage to hilariously present the Lifetime Achievement Award to writer-director Don Roos (The Opposite of Sex, Marley & Me).
It was a long but fun night, and we loved meeting the dozens of filmmakers who were milling about, pimping their movies in between cocktails (like us! Remember: HIH's first short film, Bitch, premieres this Sunday at the DGA on Sunset Blvd!). Then, it was on to the afterparty at the multi-leveled Club 740 two blocks away.
