He may be a Kansas City boy at heart, but hot up-and-comer JayBezz (a.k.a Jay Betts) is priming himself to be an international superstar. Having already conquered parts of the world like Australia and Morocco (and soon, Japan), JB is now focusing on the US release of his debut album, Evolove, on August 4, courtesy of Hobo Records.
HIH had the pleasure of meeting JayBezz earlier this month and sampling some of his tunage. Our fave so far: "Drops the Beat," a Janet Jackson-esque joint full of seductive synths (He's rehearsing with choreographer Allan Frias from So You Think You Can Dance for the music video)! And having worked with such hotness like SWV, RuPaul, Kelly Rowland, Mario and Janelle Monae, JayBezz is growing into his own style of electro-jazz-R&B fusion (Think: Sam Sparro with the swagger of Andre 3000).
Listen. Learn. Love.
And P.S. - If you're in the area, come to Here Lounge in West Hollywood on Sept. 2 for the album listening party!
