HIH and The First Echo are joining The Piemaker in its efforts to spread the good word about one of the most charming, most creative - hell, one of the best - shows on television. Bryan Fuller's wildly imaginative Pushing Daisies, if you recall, won the directing Emmy for its brilliant pilot which introduced us to Ned the piemaker (Lee Pace) and his ability to bring the dead back to life (with one touch) and back to death forever (second touch). Yeah, creepy, but trust us.
Consider Ned & Co. the new Scooby gang. There ain't a ton of Lost-like mythology to wrap your head around either...The nutshell: Private eye Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) and Ned's once-deceased childhood sweetheart, Chuck (Anna Friel), join our piemaker to solve murders (ask the dead body-of-the-week a question, and it will tell you no lie). Meanwhile, Chuck's eclectic Aunts Lily (Swoosie Kurtz) and Vivian (Ellen Greene), the piemakers' best customers, don't know their beloved niece is alive and well (btw, we just found out Lily is really Chuck's mom). And poor Ned and Chuck can never kiss because, with a second touch from Ned, Chuck'll be dead again - for good. Okay, that should do it...What are you waiting for?
This ain't your mother's murder-mystery-romantic-comedy serial-procedural.
ABC Wednesday nights, y'all. Watch!
