Fan of that funtastic show Workout on Bravo ? They're getting ready to film season three and we've got an exclusive interview with one of the stars Jesse Brune. You can catch the second season now running on Bravo , Tuesday nights at 10pm.
CM: Personal trainer AND professional chef, you once said "....who wants to live in a world without the occasional cupcake or cosmo?", love your philosophy. Is it hard to reconcile your two worlds? JB: Oh yes... definitely. Honestly, I was going to be a pastry chef before I booked, "Workout". I had a fantasy of traveling the world and baking in rustic little towns all over Europe, then returning to the states to open a quaint pastry shop- you know, something very Snow White-ish with a modern sensibility, ha! You see, I started personal training so I wouldn't gain a TON of weight while in culinary school, I figured through association I would stay in shape. I just happened to develop a following as a fitness instructor and eventually caught the attention of the producers of "Workout". After getting hired for the show, it seemed as soon as anyone found out I was a chef, they wanted me to prepare healthy meals for them. I sort of evolved into a healthy living chef. I will say, the more research I do on organic foods and healthy living, eating poorly and drinking become less and less of a temptation.
CM: What's your favorite type of food to cook?
JB: I love to get creative with food by finding the healthy alternative to my favorite dishes. My mother, a true southern belle (Charleston, SC) practically raised us on fried chicken and sweet-tea. So, though 85% of the time I am cooking balanced organic meals, I will admit that I love some good ol' soul food.
CM: What you got "cooking" next?
JB: I will probably be the last to know. I have a lot of things in the oven right now. I am a bit of a workaholic, so I am always up to something. I have had the opportunity to travel a bit as a caterer, which is really cool. Training is pretty insane right now, and I am gearing up for a third season of "Workout"... as far as anything else goes... I suppose we all have to wait and see. The future, I am happy to say, looks very bright.
CM: What was the most exciting thing about being a part of Workout?
JB: All the attention from the lesbian community.
CM: Plain or Peanut M&M's?
JB: Depends on who I am with and how judgmental they are.
CM: What side of the bed do you sleep on?
JB: I'm very versatile.
CM: What or who to you is "hot" in Hollywood?
JB: Is it me, or did Harry Potter get really cute this year? It may be the whole 50 million dollar contract that adds to his hotness... but every time I see a cover with the kid on it, I am always a little creeped out that I am like, "My my my Mr. Potter, it seems we are growing up..." Yikes. Rosario Dawson always seems to keep it real... and that's hot. I got to meet Claire Danes the other day, and let me tell you something- that lady is flipping gorgeous in person... I mean, really... like, you feel creepy because you can't take your eyes off of her. And, um... let’s see... that Hugh Jackman is a frickin’ dream boat. That's all I got.
