Tori Spelling, Dean Nolen, James O'Shea & Philipp Karner in KISS THE BRIDE
The romantic comedy Kiss the Bride directed by C. Jay Cox and starring Tori Spelling, Joanna Cassidy and Robert Foxworth (and our very own Michael Medico) premiers at the closing night of Outfest tonight at 8pm at the Orpheum Theatre. It then premiers on the east coast tomorrow for the closing night of the Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian film Festival. And we've got an exclusive interview with director C. Jay Cox.
CM: What was the hardest part of doing Kiss the Bride?
CJC.: On a low budget and tight schedule we had to shoot a movie AND plan a wedding.CM: So you're premiering KTB on both coasts this week and you're directing a ton of celebs for Hot in Hollywood's stage show coming up on Aug 18th... that's a big month... How ya doing? Ya nervous?
CJC: I'm a little nervous, but I'm surrounded by really talented people.CM: Well said! So, tell me something about the movie or the actors that we wouldn't get from watching KTB.
CJC: There's a scene in which an actor falls on top of Tori. Because she was pregnant we used a double -- Elizabeth Kells who plays Monica.CM: Is it weird working with Michael (Medico) as a stoner doofus in your movie and then having him be all professional as the executive producer of Hot in Hollywood?
CJC: Wait, Michael is being "all professional" now? Is that what he's going for? Yeah... I didn't know there was a difference.CM: Ha! What's your next project?
CJC: I wrote a script called "The Thing In Bob's Garage" that I want to shoot.CM: Who or what do you think is hot in Hollywood?
CJC: Uh, Michael Medico? (I just realized I can still be replaced.)CM: Smart move...
